  2. Crossfire Library
  3. Paradox for Windows Intra-Application Communication Library

  7. The Crossfire Library is an ObjectPAL compiled library designed
  8. to simplify form to form data and message passing in Paradox for
  9. Windows applications.  The library contains methods for passing
  10. data between forms, controlling multiple forms on the desktop,
  11. auto-incrementing numbers and more.
  12.  
  13. Crossfire Library ships with a full-blown "real world" sample 
  14. application called SoftWatch which demonstrates the power and
  15. flexibility of the library and contains a wealth of advanced
  16. ObjectPAL programming techniques in source form.

  18. To get started, if you did not unzip XFIRE.ZIP with the -d
  19. option (for creating subdirectories) please erase this version
  20. and do this now.  Unzipping the files in this fashion will place
  21. XFIRE.LDL and the appropriate documentation files (in Windows
  22. Write *.WRI format) in the current directory and will also
  23. explode SoftWatch in the directory "SWATCH" below the directory 
  24. where XFIRE.LDL is created.

  26. It is highly recommended that you read the documentation first
  27. and then explore the sample application to see the benefits that
  28. Crossfire provides.  The documentation is complete with a full
  29. explanation of the Crossfire Library, a tutorial on using 
  30. libraries in Paradox for Windows applications, a method reference 
  31. and an introduction to SoftWatch, the example application.

  33. Aside from Crossfire's merits, SoftWatch is a multi-form Paradox
  34. for Windows application which is provided in uncompiled form for
  35. your examination and use.  Techniques are provide for using the
  36. Crossfire library, using TCursors, centralized menu handling,
  37. managing multiple libraries in an application, data entry,
  38. action message handling, printing the current record,
  39. passing data between forms, controlling form handles,
  40. auto-incrementing numbers, and many more advanced ObjectPAL 
  41. techniques.

  43. Crossfire library may be implemented in your applications with a
  44. minimum of setup coding and will increase your program's appeal
  45. and functionality.  Before attempting to use Crossfire, please
  46. read WARRANTY.WRI and XFIRE.WRI.
